Fall Favorites

28th October 2024

With October comes one of our favorite seasons – Fall! There’s nothing we love more at Wrapmaster® Home HQ than a season of golden leaves, pumpkin spice, the countdown to Thanksgiving… we could go on and on!

This month, we’ve pulled together some of our favorite produce that’s coming into season to help you plan your recipes, and the hearty dishes you’ll be whipping up!

Pumpkin

Did you know that pumpkin is actually considered a fruit? Whether you favor Pumpkin Pie, live for a Pumpkin Spice Latte or prefer something savory, like a warming soup or roasted seeds – there are plenty of ways to get the most out of this vibrant fruit!

Root Vegetables

Homemade fries are always delicious, and for us, you can never have too many!

Top tip: whether you’re using sweet potato, or regular white potatoes, line your tray with baking paper or aluminum foil when cooking homemade fries to stop them from sticking!

Leeks and carrots are also in season! With their versatile flavor, they’re a great option for bulking out chilli, casseroles and pies!

Peas & Pulses

At Wrapmaster Home HQ, we still love a salad even in the colder months, but we like to swap out our usual ingredients to make it a little more hearty!

Why not try adding peas to the base of your salads for some green goodness?

We’ve also been loving a DBS (dense bean salad!). For a nutritious salad packed with fibre, try adding roasted sweet bell peppers, chickpeas and cannellini beans to your base and finish off with fresh herbs for taste!

Salads are great to prepare in advance – so if you’re meal prepping ahead of a busy week, just tightly cover your food with plastic wrap and keep in the refrigerator to maximize freshness.

Corn

We’ve been loving Cowboy Caviar – and now we can love it even more! We also love to grill corn, so if you’re based in a warmer state and alfresco dining is still a weekend treat – give it a go!

(Head to our socials to see how we make ours!)

Cauliflower

One of our favorite vegetables thanks to its versatility, cauliflower is back in season, as well as other members of the cabbage family – from broccoli to brussels sprouts!

Berries

Another Fall favorite of ours we hear you ask? Blackberry Cobbler – you can’t beat homemade served with vanilla ice cream!

In time for Thanksgiving, cranberries are also back in season! We love to serve Turkey with a cranberry relish, and it’s easy to prep in advance!

Apples and Peaches and Pears – oh my!

These tree-grown fruits are in season throughout October, which opens up a whole range of possibilities when it comes to the kitchen!

While you can add them into your own cobbler recipes, we’ve seen lots of creative ways to bring out the flavors even more!

Peach and Burrata on toast is a delicious brunch option – or a great starter if you’re hosting! Plums and apples are great additions to Fall and Winter salads.

We love to poach pears with cinnamon to top off our oatmeal– it’s a great warming breakfast, and a delicious way to get fruits and fibre into your diet!

Once cooked, cool and cover with plastic wrap in the fridge! It will last for two to three days!

Don’t forget, if you’ll be busy in the kitchen this month, pick up a Wrapmaster® Home dispenser so it’s on-hand for your kitchen needs.
